headcanon: so Russian skating team can’t learn to call Yuri Yurio and calling him Yura without permission will probably kill you so at first Yuri and Yuuri are never sure which one of them someone means and it leads to those awkward situations when he tries to explain he meant Japanese Yuri or Russian Yuri until eventually Yakov just yells one day “Yuri, not Victor’s Yuri!” and that’s it, they all call him “Victor’s Yuuri” now. Yuuri wouldn’t even notice but when Victor realises it he starts to tell everyone that they should call him “Yuuri’s Victor” too and is complaining they don’t to the point when Yuuri just goes “well because it’s obvious you’re mine” and Victor happily agrees because he’s so weak for confident Yuuri can you blame him
